Who is BB?

(this fella, right here)

Hello to all you lovely folks.

My name is Ian but most call me BB (short for Billy Bones, an amalgamation of alter egos so to speak). As of mid-June 2024, I have relocated from occupied Monacan Territory (“Lynchburg”, VA) to Nuwuvi (the “Las Vegas/Henderson” area). My partner and I had been living in-between housing since losing our home in Lenapehoking (NJ) at the start of pandemic and I am excitedly awaiting this next chapter of life. We consider ourselves blessed to have had the support of family and friends over the last handful of years.

I am an artist, storyteller, and creative to my very core. Although I am always experimenting and working with a variety of mediums, I find that I most frequently come back to painting, drawing, photography, and piecing together jewelry. In addition to the work I do that centers around my own internal worlds and experience, I also use photography and art to document and empower a variety of queer fashion and identities, marginalized people, and other "alternative"/systemically oppressed beings.

I am a great many things and more often than not I struggle with labels and find myself never comfortably fitting in any one particular box. I call myself a “Quantum Queer” because I am infinite and often find myself stepping outside of my physical body and linear time. I will forever be an explorer of the expanse of consciousness. I am many selves in a single physical anchor. I predominantly identify as a Trans*/Queer/Non-Binary person and while my appearance can read as somewhat “masc” my gender and sexuality are in constant shifting motion.

A core part of my life’s purpose is to share my internal realities and my spiritual experiences with the world through art, music, writing, and any other platforms that should call to me. That said, as a predominantly solitary person, I am constantly having to push myself to my limits to broadcast my work. I have lacked (but I am learning) many of the tools that people inherently have in their “social toolbox” and while I am intensely driven an determined, I have often struggled with myself to have even the simplest of conversations.

My life is political. These are aspects that I prefer to be up front and open about because of how they affect myself and the people closest to me. These parts of my life are not up for debate. If you don’t want to do business, if you don’t want to be friends, or if you just don’t agree and/or are otherwise opposed - I would honestly prefer that we part ways.

As mentioned, I identify as Queer and Trans. For most of my life, like those of many others, my body has been a political war zone. I will continue to be unapologetic about who I am and walk the path I am meant to be on (and will do my best to leave a light for future generations to follow).

I am polyamorous, sex/kink/body positive, and very adamant about sexual wellness and informed consent.

Supporting (and decriminalizing) sex workers is also intensely important to me as these folks have not only been my friends, partners, and family but are also often at the forefront of the fight for freedom of all relations (and preservation of the rights of our bodily autonomy).

I stand in solidarity with the ongoing fight for Black, Brown, and Indigenous liberation and empowerment.

I stand in solidarity with Indigenous people and their ongoing fight for the return of their ancestral lands and sovereignty.

I stand in solidarity with the MMIW2SR (Missing Murdered Indigenous Women Two Spirit Relations) movement and spreading awareness of the disproportionate violence and murder of Indigenous Women, Two Spirits, Children, and Relations.

Nobody is free until we are all free.
Read it again, that’s right.
Nobody is free
until we are all free.

Free Palestine.
End the genocide in Gaza.

Stand against oppression and fascism.
Fuck Nazis.
Fuck ICE.
Fuck colonialism.
Fuck capitalism.

Silence enables violence.

I stand against supremacy, oppression, and exploitation in it's many forms and flavors and am unlearning the indoctrination and social programming that had been built into me every day. I want to surround myself with people that are doing the same.

I want to leave this world helping to heal it both for those living now and to do what I can to aid, nurture sustainability, and better the land and community for the generations that come after.

Together with my partner Ty/agentSKYHOUSE, we are working toward building not only a sanctuary for wildlife but nurturing and holding safe space for the communities we care so much for. With the help of friends, family, and clients, we are getting closer to our goals every day. If you’d like to follow our journey and/or help to support us along the way you can reach out and email directly (encryptedritual@gmail.com)or follow us on the links provided in the contact section. I will also be creating a resource page here in the future linking to local events, organizations, and spaces that are involved in mutual aid and are looking for donations/volunteers/folks looking to get involved with and lift the voices of their local communities.
